Robert H. “Bob” Lominac, 84, of Clearwater Lane, Spruce Pine, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
Born Aug. 16, 1934, in Keystone, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Harmon and Mary Martha Hall Lominac. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lominac; and a stepson, Darrel Renfro.
Bob was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church. He was a well-known musician in the area, playing at Young’s Mountain Music, The Orchard at Altapass and many others. As a youth, he played at the Carolina Barn Dance. He loved to play golf and dance. Bob was in the Air Force during the Korean War. He loved people, and nobody was a stranger to him. He loved his friends, his family and his church family
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 16 years, Mary Jo Pendley Lominac, of the home; his son, Scott Lominac, and wife, Karen, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; his stepdaughter, Donna Renfro, and husband, Charles, of Bakersville; his brothers, Curtis, Al and Dennis Lominac; his sisters, Sandy and Linda; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Robert “Bob” Lominac was 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Brandon Pitman officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends was 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Beaver Creek Baptist Church. Interment was 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Pendley Cemetery.
