Randy Douglas Putman, 57, of Jones Garland Road, Bakersville, passed away March 23, 2019, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. He was a native of Mitchell County and a self-employed farmer. He attended Beans Creek Church of Jesus Christ. Randy enjoyed being in the mountains, and the outdoors and especially liked trading and selling cars.
Survivors include his mother, Madeline Mosley Putman, of Bakersville; one daughter, Jewel Putman, of Spruce Pine; three sisters, Daisy Hoilman, Phyllis Gardner and Charlene Putman, all of Bakersville; three brothers, Charles and Adern Putman, both of Bakersville, and Billy Joe Putman, of Unicoi, Tennessee; and one grandchild, Jada Love Valentine.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur (Aught) Putman; and four brothers, Donald, Ray, Roger and Guy Putman.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with G.B. Garland, Mike Peterson and Doug Honeycutt officiating. The family received friends two hours before the service. Interment followed the service at Mosley Cemetery on Bowman Road.
