OBITUARY: Bea Burleson White
Bea Burleson White, 96, of Sunshine Hill Street, Spruce Pine, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at the Brian Center Rehabilitation and Palliative Care of Spruce Pine.
Born April 3, 1922, in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late B.B. and Bonnie Young Burleson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband, Burton L. White; a brother, J.D. Burleson; and a son, Billy Pendley.
Bea was a member of Central Baptist Church of Spruce Pine and was a very active member when able to go. She loved to sing in the choir and enjoyed reading.
Left to cherish her memories are her cousin, Gwen Hefner Hawley, of Spruce Pine; a nephew, Ken White, and wife, Rachel, of Early, Texas; great-nephews, Dave White, and wife, Marcy, of May, Texas, and Charlie White, and wife, Beth, of Odessa, Florida. She also leaves behind her special friends Ima Conroy, Ruby Davis, Wilann Ward, Nancy Burleson, Dot McKinney, and Pastor Jody Griffin, and his wife, Sheila.
A funeral service honoring the life of Bea White was 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at Central Baptist Church in Spruce Pine with the Rev. Jody Griffin officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends was 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment followed in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of the Brian Center and Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge for the excellent care of Bea.
