Elizabeth Edith Ollis Crowder
Elizabeth Edith Ollis Crowder, 83, of Spruce Pine, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, in the Care Partners Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Pearl Ingram Ollis and the wife of the late Lewis Crowder, who passed away in 2006. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her son, Gary Crowder; sisters, Lucille O. Duncan, Zora O. Burleson and Helen O. Wilson; brothers, Ernest Ollis, who died in infancy, Howard G. Ollis and Roy Ollis. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Spruce Pine and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Spruce Pine Chapter 27.
Survivors include a sister, Joyce Ollis English, and husband, David, of Archdale; grandchildren, Jennifer Barnett, and husband, Andy, and Jonathan McCaffrey; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Marie Barnett and Austin Hoyle; her special sister-in-law, Lydia Banks; special niece, Stacy Banks; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Thomas officiating. Burial followed in the Wilson Cemetery.

Alan Hicks Calloway
Alan Hicks Calloway, 53, of 7106 Highway 25 S. Ninety-Six, Greenwood, South Carolina, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at Self Regional Medical Center. A memorial service for his family and friends will be held at noon March 109, 2018, the home of his father, Tom, on Cabin Road in Greenwood. The family has requested flowers be omitted and memorials are made to Alan Calloway Account c/o Harley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 777, Greenwood, SC 29648.
