Iva Lee Street, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Mitchell County, Iva Lee was a daughter of the late Joe and Lillie Belle Hughes Street.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Street; two sisters, Dora Street and Eunice Kerr; and a brother, I.D. Street. Iva Lee was a loving mother, and “Shranny” (grandmother) who loved the Lord, singing in church, gardening and working in her flowers. She was a member of Odom’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, owner of Buladean Exxon and formerly worked with Hampshire Hosiery.
Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Patricia Caughron (David); son, Larry Dean Street (Temple); grandchildren, Dawn Street (Keith), DeAnna Garland (Timmy) and Daron Caughron (Diana); step-grandchildren, Lisa Honeycutt, Deborah Lowery (Charlie) and Michael Hughes; great-grandchildren, Kaylia Street, Lillie Garland, Corban Garland, Maddox Caughron, Ava Caughron, Maddison Caughron, Kameron Honeycutt, Jacob Honeycutt, Justin Hughes, Cierra Bumgarner, Levi Gouge and Tristen Lowery; step son-in-law, Matthew Honeycutt; brother, J.R. Street; nieces, Marlene Edwards (John) and Joci Street; and nephews, Jeremy Street and Stephen Street (Beth).
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Odom’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Preachers Jimmy Arrowood and Doug Honeycutt officiated. The family received friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. before the services at the church. Graveside services followed the funeral service in the Melton Cemetery on Hughes Gap Road.
