Harold Nicholas “Nick” Houchard, 80, of Burnsville, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019, at his home. Born Sept. 9, 1938, in Long Beach, California, he was a son of the late Harold and Michella Mehle Houchard.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1961 until 1967, after which he worked in cryogenics engineering for the next 40 years. He was of the Episcopal faith and was a Master Cribbage Player of Great Renown.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ruby Houchard. Surviving is his devoted spouse of 53 years, Marcia Elaine Moore Houchard; children, Morgen Houchard, and his spouse, Tamara, of Belmont, Khristian Houchard, and his spouse, Holly, of Burnsville, and Kedren Cooper, and her spouse, Shannon, of Burnsville; daughters of the heart, Pam Carberry, of Michigan, and Meghan Williams, of South Carolina; brother, Mike Houchard, of Conyers, Georgia; grandchildren, Reagan Houchard, Sammy Houchard, Max Houchard and Easton Cooper, all of Burnsville, Josefina Houchard, of Belmont, David Kerlin, and his fiancée, Brittany King, of Greenville, South Carolina, Taylor Kerlin, of Huntsville, Alabama, Stewart Kerlin, and his spouse, Ashley Kerlin, and Ava Kerlin, all of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Nick requested a delay of a memorial service until he could be reunited with his wife. Thank you to all those who surrounded our family during this time. Our family is so grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love, support, friendship and generosity.
