Gary Wayne Freeman, 52, of Richmond Avenue, Bakersville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and was formerly employed as a Rock Mason and Millwright Worker.
Survivors include his mother, Faye Freeman, of Bakersville; his brother, Greg Freeman (Amanda), of Little Switzerland; his nephew, Gabriel Hoilman; two uncles, Ronnie Callahan and Eddie Wayne Callahan; one aunt, Elaine Freeman; several cousins; special friend, Kenneth Wyatt; and many other special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Freeman.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019, in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Randy Wise and Neil Payne officiating. The family received friends two hours before the service. Interment will follow at Red Hill Baptist Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
