Eric Kurt Miller, 60, of Kurtland Revels Road, Bakersville, passed away July 19, 2018, at his home. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Ed and Bonnie Stevens Miller. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was previously employed as a millwright at several nuclear power plants. He was a member of Little Rock Creek Baptist Church and loved his constant pet companion dogs Waylon, Willie, Sadie and Chi. He was an avid reader and enjoyed music and sports. He was a friend to all and had a lifetime value of hard work.
Survivors include his wife, Libby Ferguson Miller, of the home; two sons, Kurt Miller (Jennifer), of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Kaleb Miller (Heather), of Jonesborough, Tennessee; three brothers, Richard Miller and Stevie Miller, of Bakersville, and Floyd Miller, of Easley, South Carolina; and five grandchildren, Kylie Miller, Jackson Miller, Luke Miller, Kara Miller and Kate Miller.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, with Toby Crowder officiating. The family received friends two hours before the service. Interment followed at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery with Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter No. 57 DAV conducting military honors.
