Daniel Michael O’Neil, 61, passed away Jan. 26, 2019, at his home in Bakersville, with his wife of 20 years, Christene O’Neil, and family members at his side.
He was born Sept. 11, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan. After high school, he enlisted in the Army for four years. After that, his love of driving kept him busy selling meat or hauling items from one state to the other.
Daniel could light up a room the minute he walked in and could mimic accents and draw laughs by acting out a scene. He was fiercely loyal toward family and friends and held deep connections with them.
He will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, embracing each day as an adventure; his deep sense of responsibility; his resilience; his twinkling blue eyes; his passionate determination; and his appreciation for life and the people he shared it with.
Daniel, you brought joy, love and laughter to all our lives.
