Spruce Pine Chevy offers free breakfast to veterans
SPRUCE PINE – Spruce Pine Chevrolet showed its support for area veterans this past Saturday by hosting a free Veterans Day breakfast in its showroom.
Local veterans and their families packed the showroom and were greeted by service and parts director Sam Hollifield, who addressed the crowd to start the event.
The dealership has had a Veterans Day breakfast the past three years.
“We appreciate what the veterans have done,” Hollifield said. “Had it not been for you, we wouldn’t be here. Thank you for everything you’ve done.”
Hollifield added he thought the crowd was the biggest the dealership has seen.
Rocky Branch, the pastor of Spruce Pine First Baptist Church, thanked the veterans and prayed before the breakfast was served.
While the veterans ate, they were treated to live country music performed by Juleigh Ed, who debuted songs from her upcoming album and also played songs geared toward Veterans Day.
“I’m so proud to be here,” Ed said. “I’m honored to be a part of this. I love my country and our veterans.”
