The Spruce Pine Town Council is having a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Spruce Pine Town Hall.
The meeting will be for the purpose of economic development public hearing and grant consideration and a budget work session.
The regular Spruce Pine Town Council meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 28, has been canceled.

The Town of Spruce Pine will be holding a public hearing to solicit citizen input on the proposed award of a grant to Spruce Pine Main Street for economic development. A grant of up to $300,000 will be used to purchase and complete renovations to the "McCall's Building" located at 209 Locust St., Spruce Pine, NC. The grant amount would be appropriated from the general fund balance.
