One-Stop voting began April 19

BAKERSVILLE – Early voting, or One-Stop Absentee Voting, begins Thursday, April 19, in Mitchell County and runs prior to the May Primary Election. 

Any registered voter in Mitchell County may vote in person during this time at the Mitchell County Board of Elections office or Spruce Pine Town Hall. 

2018 Primary Election One-Stop hours at the Board of Elections office in Bakersville are 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, April 19; Friday, April 20; Tuesday, April 24; Thursday, April 26; Friday, April 27; Tuesday, May 1; Thursday, May 3; and Friday, May 4; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, April 23, and Monday, April 30; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 25; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 5.

One-stop voting hours at Spruce Pine Town Hall are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, April 19; Friday, April 20; Tuesday, April 24; Thursday, April 26; Friday, April 27; Tuesday, May 1; Thursday, May 3; and Friday, May 4. Voting hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, April 23; Wednesday, April 25; Monday, April 30; and Wednesday, May 2; and voting hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 5.

People can also register to vote and vote during One Stop.
