Commemorative pavers available at Constitution Park
BAKERSVILLE – Mitchell County residents have an opportunity to memorialize or honor friends and loved ones.
Constitutional Park, also known as Charters of Freedom Park next to the administration building in Bakersville, was donated by Foundation Forward and is nearing completion. In this park, there will be walkways, flowers and picnic tables.
“We will be using pavers for a portion of the architecture,” said Matthew “Vern” Grindstaff, chair of the Mitchell County Board of Commissioners. “You can buy a paver in memory or honor of a loved one, friend or influential citizen in Mitchell County.”
Pavers are $75 each. Purchase forms are available at the Mitchell County Administration Building, the Mitchell News-Journal office and may be downloaded from www.mitchellnews.com.
Please fill the form out in the appropriate area titled “paver.” Return your form to the administration building no later than Friday, Nov. 2.
“This park is going to be a wonderful place for families, students and every citizen to enjoy and find educational opportunities,” Grindstaff said. “I urge everyone to get the word out about this opportunity.”
