BREAKING: Weapon found in student’s car at MHS
LEDGER – Mitchell County Schools Superintendent Chad Calhoun stated 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, about the discovery of a weapon in a student’s car at Mitchell High School.
Calhoun said the weapon was then taken from the car and principal Mark Woody and the school resource officer are following all state and local school board policies and are consulting with the district attorney’s office and Mitchell County Sheriff Donald Street in the investigation, which is ongoing.
“From the time the weapon was discovered until the situation was resolved, there was never a student in danger,” Calhoun said.
