7th annual BBQ & Bluegrass Festival is this weekend
SPRUCE PINE – Barbecue and bluegrass, country, folk and Americana music come to the Blue Ridge Mountains from 4-10 p.m. Friday, July 20, and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, July 21, for the seventh Spruce Pine BBQ & Bluegrass Festival.
Single-day general admission is $5 per person; children 12-and-under are free.
All festival activities, including entertainment, food and craft vendors are in Riverside Park across the river from downtown Spruce Pine. Tickets are available at the festival.
The Festival features local and regional musicians including Jonah Riddle & Carolina Express, Typical Mountain Boys, clogging teams, storytellers award-winning BBQ from multiple vendors, children’s activities and more.
The Spruce Pine BBQ & Bluegrass Festival is hosted by the Rotary Club of Spruce Pine and all profits from the festival go to charitable efforts, including local and international projects through the Spruce Pine Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization.
A portion of the proceeds from this year’s festival will also go toward the hiking and biking path from Riverside Park in Spruce Pine to the Blue Ridge Parkway, along with the historic Overmountain Victory Trail. This trail work is in cooperation with Toe River Valley Watershed Partnership and the U.S. National Park Service.
