The Spruce Pine Main Street Spring Cleanup is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, in downtown Spruce Pine.
The Bradshaw Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a ramp dinner starting at noon Saturday, April 14, at Station 12 at the foot of Pigeon Roost Road. Price is $12 for adults, $6 for children and includes ramps and potatoes, ramps and eggs, slaw, cornbread, and a choice of streaked meat, hamburger or hot dog. Price also includes drinks and dessert. There will be a raffle for a YETI cooler.
A Spring Tea hosted by Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators for girls ages 5-12 is 2-3:30 p.m. at Saturday, April 14, at Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church. Family and friends welcome. Roan Mountain Chapter 29 Order of the Eastern Star is hosting a ramp supper beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Bakersville Masonic Lodge. The menu is streaked meat, pinto beans, potatoes with or without ramps, Cole slaw, greens, cornbread, dessert and a drink. Cost is $8 a plate for adults, $4 for children age 6-12 and free for children under 5 years old. Take out is also available.
