Freedom Baptist Church, 1353 Roan Road in Spruce Pine, is having its Fall Festival and BBQ fundraiser. The festival begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, and the BBQ sale at 11 a.m. There will also be kids’ games and face painting. The Hinson Girls will perform at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at Spruce Pine First Baptist Church, 125 Tappan St.

The Hinson Girls will host the 5th Sunday Night Gospel Singing at Bear Creek Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. The group is made up of four sisters from Lancaster, South Carolina. Everyone is welcome.

Gouge Elementary School’s Fall Festival fundraiser is 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the school. There will be a haunted house, inflatables, a raffle, a cake walk and more. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will also be available.

Tickets for the Spruce Pine Kiwanis Club Fish Fry from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Harris Middle School are on sale for $10 from any Kiwanis member.

The Wall that heals, a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, and mobile education center will be on display Thursday, Oct. 12, to Sunday, Oct. 15, at Mountain Heritage High School in Burnsville. The wall will come through downtown Spruce Pine around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11.

A reception for the Toe River Arts Fall Group Show is 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Spruce Pine Gallery, 269 Oak. Ave. in Spruce Pine.

The Artisan League of Little Switzerland Fall Arts and Crafts Market is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, and Saturday, Oct. 14, at Geneva Hall in Little Switzerland.

The Spruce Pine Potters Market is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, and Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Cross Street Commerce Center.

Antique Fest is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, on Locust Street in downtown Spruce Pine. More than 20 vendors are participating in the event, which is hosted by Herman Buchanan at Not Bob’s Antiques.
