She was born on April 21, 1933 in Wyoming County, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late George Washington and Alpha Jean Donovan Sizemore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Willis, and her eldest son, Jay Willis.
Naomi was a member of the Big Crabtree Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 16 years. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed quilting, knitting and cooking for her family.
Naomi Willis leaves behind one son; Eric Willis and wife Linda, daughter; Kathy Willis, and daughter in law; Juanita Willis, all of Spruce Pine. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services honoring the life of Naomi Willis were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, at Big Crabtree Baptist Church with the Rev.’s Mike Rathbone and Dean Honeycutt officiating. Interment followed in the Big Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. A time to receive friends and share memories and support the family was held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Big Crabtree Baptist Church.
