BAKERSVILLE, N.C.— Milas Kennedy Hudgins Sr. of Broad Branch Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord May 22, 2021. He was a native of Yancey County, NC and a son of the late Ottis and Kathleen Austin Hudgins. He was a member of St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church and self employed as a carpenter. He loved the outdoors, his family and church family, the outdoors, all animals, helping other people, and gathering ginseng. He also loved his two dogs Buddy and Cocoa.
Survivors include: his wife Donna Hughes Hudgins, one son Milas Kennedy Hudgins Jr. (Sara), of Bakersville, NC, sisters; Susie Hughes, of Bakersville, NC, Joyce Hudgins, and Kathy Robinson, both of Burnsville, NC, Louise Hudgins and Darlene Trittin, both of Greenville, TN, six brothers; Michael, Justin, Gary, Dennis, and Lynn Hudgins, all of Burnsville, NC, and Benjamin Hudgins, of Texas, two grandchildren Logan and Tyler Hudgins.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by: two sisters Jewell Silvers and Mary Ann Hudgins, and one brother Benny Hudgins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 7:00PM in St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Cope officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00AM at Ottis Hudgins Family Cemetery (Prices Creek Rd., Burnsville, NC).
