The annual mineral and gem shows were back in town this past week.
The outdoor Grassy Creek Gem and Mineral Show, sponsored by Parkway Fire and Rescue, was in the Skyview Circle property while the indoor NC Mineral and Gem Show, put on by the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce, was in a new location at the Three Peaks Center (Pinebridge building) in Spruce Pine.
Each show featured dozens of vendors from across the region and the country selling their best minerals and gems. Rock hounds of all kinds packed the shows to see what was available.
