Mayland Early College High School students collected plenty of hardware at the recent Western North Carolina Mountain State Fair. Aidan Harwood won first for carved walking stick and third for canned green beans.
Starla Woodby earned first for her painted art. Roby Summerfield (not pictured) notched first in print design. Hayden Thomas won first place in pumpkin decorating and first and a judge’s choice award for her baked goods.
Eilidh Winters earned first and best in show in both crocheted clothing and art project.
