Harris Middle School Future Business Leaders of America students recently enjoyed a trip inside Smithmore Castle in Spruce Pine where they learned about hospitality and tourism careers.

The 45 students learned about careers in management, marketing and operation of restaurants and other food services, lodging, attractions, recreation and travel services.

Smithmore chef Benjamin Epicure and his wife Jessie talked to the students about the opportunities, which are ideal for those who like to travel and are intrigued by helping others explore the beauty of the world and its cultures.
