LEDGER — The Mitchell High boys’ soccer team earned its first win of the year with an 8-2 victory over Draughn on Monday, Sept. 20.

The Mountaineers, who moved to 1-2 in Western Highlands Conference play with the win, were led by senior Ben Wessinger who poured in six goals while freshman Chris Wences tallied two.

Prior to the win over Draughn, Mitchell expanded its roster to 17 players. The team scored its first two goals of the season earlier this month against Madison when Wessinger and Fernando Flores found the back of the net in a 3-2 loss.

Mitchell was at Mountain Heritage Monday, Sept. 27. Results were not available at press time.
