Charles Joseph Kamper, Jr., 77 of Burnsville, NC died Friday, November 4, 2022 in Asheville, NC. Born June 2, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Charles Joseph Kamper, Sr. and Beatrice Augustina Gerace Kamper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Carmen Mary Cadwallader Kamper.Charles worked for approximately 45 years as a Computer Systems Analyst in the Information and Data Technology industry. He worked in the retail space at companies, including Jordan Marsh and Ivey’s, in the technology space at IBM, and in the consulting space where he oversaw systems integration in the medical space assisting hospitals inventory management systems.
Before retiring to Burnsville, he lived in Fletcher, NC, Charlotte, NC and Miami, FL. He was a parishioner of Saint Lucien Catholic Church in Spruce Pine, NC and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burnsville, NC. He was a former parishioner of Saint Barnabas in Arden, NC and Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Charlotte, NC. Charles was a member of the Saint Andrew / Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus, an active volunteer at the Ava Maria Food Pantry in Spruce Pine. He enjoyed hobby farming and silversmithing.
He is survived by his daughter, Annette Marie Kamper and husband, Eric Hinson of Lawrenceville, GA; sons, Charles Joseph Kamper, III of Asheville, NC, Anthony Horace Kamper of Charlotte, NC, and Alan Raymond Kamper of Queen Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Lisette Marie Kamper-Hinson, Scout Michael Kamper-Hinson, Lukas Benjamin Kamper, and Sydney Rae Kamper; sister, Andrea Jo Garcia of Orlando, FL and brothers, Robert Julian Kamper of Round Rock, TX and Stuart Francis Kamper Perth, Western Australia.A funeral mass was held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Arden, NC. Interment followed in Shepherd Memorial Park.
